News Letter Update DFD.

Greetings from the Douglas Fire Department. Winter is not over yet. Today March 17, 2004, 8" of snow has fallen..... Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Congratulations to the following firefighters who have completed and passed Fire I&II with the district seven recruit classes;

Shane Simpson, Abe Rodas, Mat Curtis and Sean Robar.

Now it off to state certification and good luck.

Lt. Kent Vinson has been certified as a fire instructor. Good work Kent.
Lt. Vinson has put together a new RIT team and they continue to train with other communities in our area. Thanks to
Joe Nedder from Uxbridge F.D. and the MFA for his assistance.

Douglas Fire honored retired
Assistant Chief Michael Cahill on February 25, 2004 with a surprised party at the station. Best wishes to Mike who after 40 years of service has retired. Mike will continue to assist the fire department as a mechanic.

Captain John Furno has been appointed to take Mike's place as Deputy Chief. Best of luck John and we know you will do an outstanding job.

The new training schedule has been posted as well as MFA course Please take advantage of this training.

Remember all fire personnel must have First Aid Training and CPR and Hazmat training as required by MGL.
