Congratulations to Tom Griffin for receiving the "Marty McNamara" Award for Excellence in the recruit training from the
Massachusetts Fire Academy; Firefighter I & II program.
Also to Tim
Carey, Mat Curtis, and Dave Mosley for completing and passing
the same course, good luck to all in certification. We know you
will all pass.
Golf tournament was held on it's rescheduled date of July
22,2006. 70 golfers teed off at the Raceway Golf Course in
Thompson. The winners were Ron Foriter, Ken Fortier, Richard
McGrath, and Tony Gressak. Congratulations to them. All had a
great time, a good steak dinner and a nice new T-Shirt. Hope to
see you all next June. Thanks again. |

We took delivery of a new Ford F-350 Pickup truck
that will become a brush truck when we refit our
tank and pump on it.
This truck was purchased through the town's capital
fund.

| I would like
to thank all of my firefighters and officers, especially Deputy
Furno, for a good Job on July 19, 2006 on Franklin St.
They had a
working commercial garage fire fully involved as well as several
vehicles. Weather conditions were 100 degrees plus. All went
well. We had three jakes taken to the hospital for heat
exhaustion but other than that, all was good.
Thanks to the
surrounding towns who helped out. I know I have a good
department when I can be away and all goes well. You are the
best. |
