Greetings
from the Douglas Fire Department. A lot has happen since the last
newsletter.
Rescue 1 is now in service. We have purchased new air bags
as well as new cribbing and rescue tools. With the grant monies we have purchased new
radios which include high band as well as low band. The firefighters are now training with
this new equipment.
We have survived a mild brush season thanks to the cold and wet weather. We'll take it
over last years busy season.
The Women's Spring Dance was a success thanks to all who attended and to
those who donated prizes for the raffle. A special thanks to the ladies who worked hard to
put on this event. Thank you.
Our next fund raiser will be the Douglas
Firefighters Annual Golf Tournament,
July 20, 2003, to be held at Blissful Meadows in Uxbridge. Tee time 1:00 PM shot gun
style.
The cost is 100.00 dollars per golfer and teams are welcomed. The fee includes greens fee,
cart, raffle ticket, prizes and a chicken dinner. Contest will be 10,000 dollar hole in
one. Closet to pin and furthest drive.
